A competitive match with the lower league team being deserved winners. Although Fairbank probably had more posession it was Riston who had the
more cutting edge and created numerous chances. After missing an early penalty Riston made amends with 3 goals before half time, Craig Bakers great
curling shot, Brett Wileys well placed shot from the edge of the box and Phil Keiths delightful chip over the keeper.
Fairbank pulled 2 goals back in the second half whilst Riston continued to spurn chances. The decisive goal scored by Keith vollying home after a great run and pass by Leo Gonzalez. Riston's Men of the match Richard Smith, Joe Walton, Steve Hunt, although several others also deserved the award. |
