The game was played on an excellent surface and a light breeze helped did nothing to
hamper the good football played by both sides in the opening 20 minutes. Fairbank took a
two goal lead as their forwards and midfield ensured they took the chances they created
whilst Holtby , despite creating a number of goal scoring opportunities, were unable to
open their account until just before halftime. Poucher, always busy in attack and defence,
claimed Holtys' goal from only 5 yards out and the score was 2 to 1 at the interval.
During the second half the better passing and movement of the Myton league side began to tell and despite a big effort from Tuohy and Fenwick , Holtbys' right and left wingers, and some excellent play from Wheelhouse in defence, Fairbank claimed 3 more goals.
