Howden continued with their improvement in form, with a fourth win in four weeks.
The first half was very evenly balanced with both teams constantly on the attack.
Howden made the first breakthrough when Adam Curley slotted home a through ball.
Springhead equalised with an excellent strike that went over home keeper Danny Beck and minutes later took the lead when the Howden defence failed to clear a goalmouth scramble. Good link up play by Sam Wardale and Liam Theaker led to Jamie Jackson getting an equaliser for Howden. The half swung Howden's way when Stephen Thompson won the ball, and after an excellent run down the wing, played the ball through the Springhead defence for Jackson to get his second with a superb finish, bringing the half time score to 3 - 2.
The second half began as closely fought as the first and this time it was Springhead who got an equaliser with a well-crossed ball that evaded the Howden keeper. As the half progressed, however, Howden gradually took control of the game with Curley and Jackson once again playing off each other effectively, resulting in them both completing their hat tricks. Kane Walton played a very effective role in midfield, providing both attacking and defensive support and deservedly scored his first league goal of the season. This was a very good performance by every player, demonstrating the importance of teamwork, which, resulted in both teams providing an exciting and entertaining game of football. The 'Aquarius of Howden' Man of the Match award went to Stephen Thompson. Team: 1. D Beck , 2. S Wardale, 3. M Stubbs, 4. D Murphy, 5. L T Theaker, 6. K Walton, 7. L R Theaker, 8. S Thompson, 9.
