A good clean and competative match between two well matched sides, well
refereed by parent Andy Cummins.
Fairbank took the lead midway through the first half when the diminutive James Brown headed home a reabound when the West Hull keeper pulled of a good save from a Williamson volley. The game stayed a 1-0 until the second half. During the second half West Hull dominated for long periods and would have equalised earlier but for some excellant goalkeping from the home keeper Johnson.West Hull scored a fine headed equaliser from a corner, and continued to dominate the game. Fairbank introduced two substitutes for the last fifteen minutes and from a breakaway substitute Akam finished a difficult chance. West Hull continued to press forward but to no avail, Fairbank holding out for a fortunate victory. |
