in a game between the top two in this league, potentially it was a crucial game for both
teams, riston started the better by playing good football in the opening 15 mins, hitting
the post early on, the early exchanges were in there favour, after a cautious start by
carbide liam savage turned 25 yards out and ran with the ball and calmly shot past the
keeper to make it 1-0, after that carbide settled into the passing game which they do
very well, then struck for the second goal, after a flick on by liam williams, glen
brigham was clean through and cleverly lobbed the keeper to make it 2-0, carbide was now
taking control of the game and the football was excellent.
the second half was totally dominated by carbide and justly deserved a 3-0 lead when darren powdrell finished off a very well worked move which started from the midfield, now carbide were well into there stride and shortly after paul williams made it 4-0 with a goal created by the outstanding liam savage, paul took the goal well and the boys were in top gear now, carbides workrate and covering play positionally was very good and towards the end of the game won a corner which liam savage played a clever ball into the 6 yard area and ben walker finished with a brilliantly taken goal and this rounded off a superb performance by the carbide squad, who on the day were outstanding as a team ....... WELL DONE BOYS ....... goalscorers: liam savage 1 .. glen brigham 1 .. darren powdrell 1 .. paul williams 1 .. ben walker 1 .. |
