East Hull Report:

Motabitz sponsored East Hull Utd battled to earn their first win against the Champions from Brid. With Spartans arriving 3o mins late for the kick off ,East hull refused to take the two points and played the game.Despite starting with only 10 men Spartans packed their defence and withstood tremendous pressure. On 8 mins Spartans broke to take the lead with a superb strike from the Spartans forward.1-0.Utd responded 2mins later when Morriss floated a corner over for Thompson to fire home ,1-1.With the much bigger ,physical players Spartans played into East hulls hands giving Morriss five free kicks all within scoring distance for the dead ball specialist ,the 5th one Beckham would of been proud of ,when Morriss hit a screamer ,that the keeper never saw coming ,2-1.Then on 30 mins Morriss again fired over another corner for Tutty to smash home for Utd ,3-1.With 10 mins to go Utd collapsed to let in the champions for 3 goals taking Spartans into a 4-3 half time lead.

The introduction of the pacey Wiseman and Emson fired up Utd for an amazing comeback, with neither team able to score ,and with only 1o mins remaining Wiseman worked a clever ball to Emson who played the ball into Thompson to level the scores for Utd,4-4 the crowd went mad ,then with 5 mins remaining the Spartans keeper fumbled to let in Emson for the winner.5-4 to Utd.

Karl Stewart"Well done lads ,hope you learn from this result you deserved it,discipline won you the game".Man of Match, entire team .

Brid Town Report:

Brid Town Spartans lost their first league game in over 2 seasons when going down in a close fought game in East Hull. With 9 players unavailable for selection through injuries, holidays and other commitments Spartans started the game with only 10 players until adding a late arrival after 25 minutes.By then they were 3-1 down Boynton scoring the opening goal for Spartans. Before the interval Spartans turned the game around to lead 4-3 at the break with 2 Hall goals and one from Green giving Spartans their advantage.

The second half saw a East Hull fightback which culminated in the home team scoring on 2 opportunities.Spartans players aggrieved at some refereeing decisions lost their discipline and struggled to make a meaningful impact in the half. Before the final whistle Spartans were unable to add to their own scoreline and therefore tasted defeat for the first time in a year.

Congratulations to East Hull Utd on their victory but we are keenly looking forward to the return.

Managers comment; A lack of discipline cost us dear today. We must in future matches keep our heads and not be distracted by events beyond our control. Hopefully we will soon be able to choose from our full squad which for the last few weeks has been stretched to the limit.Playing such important games as these down to the bare bones is hardly an ideal situation.Next week sees us play Myton League opposition in the K.O.Cup against A.F.C. Biggin which is sure to be another hard fought encounter.
