Kingburn travelled to North Cave for this top of the table U14's Drypool clash. Kingburn
stuck first when an excellent run from Mike Wise ended with Lee Carroll turning two
defenders and slotting the ball into the net. Cave's Lee Coates chipped the ball over
Kingburns defence for Alan Bailey to run onto and place the ball passed Kingburns Keeper
making the half time score 1 - 1.
Two quick goals one by Kingburns new signing Karl Hodgson and Cave's Lee Coates made it 2 -2. This was truly end to end football and both set of supporters where in full voice, numerous easy chances where missed by both teams and both keepers making excellent saves. Kingburn's Carroll and Cave's Bailey made it 3 - 3. Cave's Lee Coates put them in the lead when he powered the ball into the bottom left corner 4 - 3. Nicky Thacker chipped the ball over Cave's defence which left Hodgson in the clear for Kingburn's forth goal. Kingburn finished the stronger side with further goals from Carroll and Hodgson giving them both hat tricks. Kingburns captain Mike Johnston scored the final goal 4 - 7.
