This was a closely contested game played on a very muddy pitch and was well refereed by
Mr Tony Kay , Cottinghams' manager. Cottingham opened the scoring but a long pass from
Tom Crosby, playing in midfield for the first time, led to Craig Young scoring for Holtby.
A series of excellent saves from Stefan Sherriff, Holtbys' goalkeeper, and poor finishing
from Cottinghams' forwards kept Holtby in the game and with 5 minutes to go the scores
were level at 4 goals each. Cottingham scored one more goal in the final minutes to come
out winners in their first league game this season leaving Holtby to reflect on their
missed chances.
