Bridlington Report:
Spartans first league game of the season saw them record a comfortable victory over AFC Holtby. On a very small pitch finding space proved difficult and as a result the game suffered with many moves quickly breaking down. Although not playing well Spartans soon moved into a lead which Holtby were unable to retreive and led 4-1 at the interval.The second half saw a slight improvement in Spartans form as they rattled up a further 7 goals with only 1 in reply. Although far from their best Spartans can be pleased with the final scoreline as a satisfactory way to begin their league campaign. SCORERS: Cruddas 2,Hall 2, Botterill 2,Barry 2,Green 2 and Lapworth 1. AFC Holtby Report: This game was played in calm windless conditions and was close untill half time , when the bigger and better organised visitors began to take control. Holtbys' new goalkeeper, Stefan Sheriff, pulled off some excellent saves throughout the game and did much to keep Holtby in contension. Kane Fenwick, playing only his second game for Holtby, scored both goals for the home team. |
