Filey secured their second league win, with a good performance at
Bridlington. They scored an early goal when a through ball from Steven Milburn set up
Richard Ossai, but then struggled to find their rythm against a determined Rangers team.
A second came late in an even first half when Richard Ossai was bundled off the ball
resulting in a penalty which he scored himself.
The second half saw the Filey midfield begin to dominate the game with some good passing moves. Steven Milburn set up Richard Ossai twice to make it 4-0; Matthew Burton chipped the keeper for 5-0; the hard-working Jed Ward set up Jack Ferguson for 6-0 and then Matthew Burton scored a seventh from a corner. To round off an excellent second half, sub Ian McCreadie's flicked header set up Richard Ossai to score his fifth to make the final score 8-0. Rangers tried hard, but the Filey defence - again well-marshalled by Lee Eblet and Jack Ferguson gave them few chances, and keeper Jamie Haxby hardly had to make a serious save. (David Milburn) |
