Motabitz sponsored East Hull ,warmed up for next weeks cup game with a comfortable win against Preston.With captain James Welsh playing up front with striker David Thompson ,this soon paid off with Welsh crashing in a hatrick in 6 minutes.After 12 mins the Preston defender handled the ball ,resulting in thompson blasting the ball past the keeper.4-0.To their credit Preston battled back to score a fine goal from the midfield 4-1.Amix up in the East Hull defence gifted Preston another goal 4-2,East Hull responded with a Neil Tutty special on the wing taking the score to 5-2 at half time.

With Cracknell replacing Tutty .and Welsh droping back to centre half East Hull stepped up the pace ,and with Preston tiring in the strong wind htompson beat the offside with a fine strike 6-2.On 55 mins East HULL replaced their injured keeper Paul Owst with Andrew Kaye going in goal ,this seemed to strengthen East Hull with sub Emson causing problems for Preston with his pace and strengh down the right wing ,when he set up Cracknell to score for East Hull 7-2.With Brown and Smith ,Atkinson bossing the midfield ,Preston cracked again to let in Cracknell to smash the ball against the bar ,were sub Bailey followed in to crack in the rebound.8-2,.IN the last minute Cracknell fired home with a quality strike for East Hull taking the final score to 9-2 .

Man of Match for East Hull, Andrew Kaye,a fine midfield and goalkeeping display from East Hulls utility man.
