30/09/01 Hutton Cranswick Juniors 1 Leconfield Swinemoor 6
This was an excellant match with both teams having ample chances to score, the result could have easily have been something like 10 all. It started with Hutton Cranswick putting Leconfield under pressure for the first 5 minutes and coming very close to scoring. Leconfield then gathered themselves together and started turning the match around. It was Leconfield who scored first with a blistering shot from Jonathan Riley which screamed into the back of the net. Leconfield continued to pile on the pressure which paid off. From a high swirling corner which was half cleared, and fell into the path of Glen Walden. He sent a powerful volly in the direction of the goal which took a small deflection of a Hutton Cranswick player and ended in the back of the net out of reach of the keeper. Hutton Cranswick then responded with a goal of their own. A player received the ball on the edge of the area and took it round 3 men despite their efforts to stop him. He then let go a strong shot which went into the bottom of the net. It was then Leconfield who responed to this and scored again with 2 excellant goals from Ben Cowlam. Leconfield manged to add to this already great scoreline with another blistering goal from Jonathan Riley. This left the scoreline at 5 - 1 to Leconfield at halftime.

In the second half it was Hutton Cranswick who had most of the play and more chances to score. They didn't however manage to score again. After 15 minutes of Hutton Cranswick pressure Leconfield managed to start playing again with some lovely flowing moves down both of the wings which eventually resulted in a goal. After an excellant move down the left wing Scott Tyler managed to break free and close in on goal. Unselfishly he squared the ball across to Christy Hall who smashed it into the back of the net. That was the last goal of an excellant match which ended Leconfield Swinemoor 6 Hutton Cranswick 1

The scorers for Leconfield were Johathan Riley 2, Ben Cowlam 2, Glen Walden 1 and Christy Hall 1
