This was a very closely contested match, in which perhaps the better footballing team lost.
The match started off very competitive, but clean, with the two teams closely matched until until around 30 minutes when Cherry Burton scored two in quick succession. Rob Gill then scored just before half time to put Cherry into the break 2-1 up. Bricknell came into the second half with a lot of spirit, and were all over Cherry. However they couldn't find a way to get the second goal, although several shots came close, including one from Nick Gillard which was just tipped over. |
