  Under 18 Division 2 Season 2001-2002

16/12/01 Ferry Inn Youth FC 4 Hessle Vikings FC 1
After a very disappointing start to the season, Ferry Inn were able to field a near full strength side for the first game this season. The game started with attacks at both ends of the pitch Ferry probing down both wings and Vikings countering through the centre. It was Ferry however who took control of the mid-field early in the game and tireless work and closing down ensured Ferry were camped in Vikings half until the deadlock was broken on 35 minutes. Vikings failed to pick up Ferry's first-half man of the match Robinson who headed firmly into the net after a Ferry corner kick. It was Robinson who turned provider on 40 minutes after a surging run down the right and pin-point cross found Hewitt who coolly slotted home from the edge of the box.

The second half started with Ferry missing Greenham and Chappel being replaced by Branton and Ferry's substitute keeper, Kurring, playing makeshift centre-forward. Vikings attacks looked sure to reduce their defecit as Ferry were finding it difficult to break out of their own half. It was Ferry ,however, who scored against the run of play. Moss who proved to be Ferry's second half man of the match beat his marker and sent in a blistering cross which was met by Hughes at the near post to give Ferry a 3-0 cushion.

Vikings, however, never gave up and were rewarded with a goal on 75 minutes when a deflected shot finally beat Ferry's keeper Farrer. It was Ferry's Moss who had the last word with the goal of the match. The influential Crosher won the ball on the left wing and with a great pass found Moss on the right wing. Moss curled the ball around the advancing Viking keeper to put the game beyond dispute.
