Gala took the advantage of having a strong wind at their backs to take
an
early lead, with Neal latching onto a flick header from Mickman to
drill the
ball home. The home team continued to dominate, and it came as no
surprise
when Giblin scored with a spectacular long range shot to put Gala two
up. Two
further goals, both from Mickman, one a delicate lob over the keeper,
the
other a swerving shot into the corner of the net, put Gala 4-0 ahead at
the
interval.
Any hope Hessle Vikings had of getting back into the game with the wind was quickly dashed when Giblin made it five early on with another powerful shot. As Gala visibly relaxed and made substitutes, Hessle were allowed to make the score look respectable with a couple of good goals after a period of pressure. It was a good result for Gala against a hard working Vikings side. Vikings also provided the referee who controlled the game well. Reporter: Chris Neal |
