The scoreline really does not reflect the game at all. If Preston Road
had of put there chances away the score would look more like
10 - 1 rather then 2 - 1. However they are a lot of positive things to
take away from this game. The way we worked hard and stuck together for
85 minutes and just slipped up in the last 5 minutes(when they scored).
Best organised game since the club was formed in the summer. Looks like
the players are listening in training and showing it in matches.
Mitchell Salter got the first from the penalty spot after Preston Road had
dominated the first half with countless shots at the Thorn goal.
Second half Darrel Thompson popped up to make it 2 - 0 and apparentley put the game safe. However Thorn got a 86th minute goal which made it touch and go until the final whistle. If are finishing and luck had of been a bit better then this game would have been high scoreing for US. Dean Allen and Darrel Thompson should have both got hat tricks and on better days they would. Mitchell Salter kept things tight at the back on the odd Thorn attack. Man of the Match - Eric Sisson - He worked hard all through the match whether attacking or defending and played a vital part in this league win. Next week at home to Leconfield. cheers go to Kerry and Lee for there continueous support to the team on and off the bus. BRING ON LECONFIELD. |
