Kingburn Tigers travelled to Barham Boys in the knock out cup. After 5mins a well placed
header from James Pallant gave Kingburn their first goal. A long clearance header from
Nicky Thacker fell to Mike Wise who took the keeper on and scored at the second attempt.
Mike Johnston slotted in goal number 3 for Kingburn. Barhams Danny Foster gathered the
ball 20yards out and jinxed and dribbled his way through the Kingburn defence to make it
1 - 3 at half time.
Kingburns 4th goal came from a pass from Johnston to Jamie Wright who lobbed it into the net. Again Johnston turned goal provider this time for Lee Carroll to place the ball passed the Barham keeper to make it 1 5. Two mins later Carroll scored again for Kingburns 6th goal. Barham were now pressurising Kingburns defence and this paid off when Ben Wainman scored Barhams second goal. A free kick from Kingburns Mark Scott fell right for Johnston to power it into the goal bringing the final score 2 7. This game was more evenly matched than the score suggests but Kingburns man of the match Adam Cole pulled off some amazing saves to keep Barham at bay. |
